ZeroWater sells a single cartridge and it fits the entire range, from the 6-cup jug to the 40-cup dispenser. Five stages, ending in an ion exchange resin that strips dissolved solids rather than just adsorbing taste compounds, which is why the included meter reads 000 on new water. That resin is also why the cartridge does not last: hard water exhausts it quickly, and a household on very hard supply may get three or four weeks where a soft-water household gets four months.
